PROCEDURES AND PRODUCTION
By using flux-cored welding wires we are able to achieve the highest possible coating
quality – reproducible every time. A very harmonious distribution of hard carbide in
the whole component part is the main characteristic, as well as a very low dilution of
the original base material. Adding a wear resistant layer on our specially developed EURODUR® build-up welding machinery guarantees highest quality and reliable protection against wear.
Excerpt of an expertise from ISAF:
“The microstructure of the coating is distributed very harmoniously. A very high
resistance against abrasive wear is to be expected.
The penetration zone is very evenly formed. A very low thermal interference with the
base material is to be expected.
The carbide quota is over 60%!
The carbides and their evenly formed distribution show an optimized cooling
procedure of the welding piece.
The carbide distribution measures near the absolute maximum saturation level which
is achievable using electric arc welding.”

“Institut für Schweißtechnik ISAF” (Institute for Welding Technology)
of The University Clausthal did several expertise on the work of EURODUR®.
In these expertise characteristics of different criteria were probed, like microstructure, carbide quota, dilution, hardness etc.
